...."Judy's yoga class is better than Physical Therapy for me!" it rejuvenates me and helps me to focus just on me and what I need to make me feel well for that short time each week"...

What yoga has done for me?  I enjoy the low impact.- Its  something my body can handle. It helps me to be calm and I enjoy- that it is time just for me;

Yoga has helped me increase the flexibility in both my body and my spirit.  Judy is a thoughtful and knowledgeable instructor who truly cares for each of her students.  Give yoga a try - your life will be richer for it.

Yoga has helped me in a number of ways.  First, it has taught me how to relax.  In stressful situations (like Charlotte traffic) I've learned to breathe instead of getting more and more tense.  Secondly, it has helped immensely to keep me flexible and limber.  I enjoy yoga lessons with Judy so much.  She teaches you to listen to your body and do what's good for you.  It doesn't matter if you're a novice or a long time practicioner of yoga, Judy's classes are perfect.

Just dropping you a note to thank you for the wonderful yoga class. Not only has my flexibility improved, but my stress level has dropped. When I miss a class I can really tell the difference in my week at work and a home. I could do excercises at home, but I would not on a regular basis. There’s something bolstering about being part of a group. It’s a very nurturing environment. And you are so good at reminding us not to “compete” but to work at our own individual levels. It could be easy to get discouraged otherwise.  Please share this with Cokesbury…….

During the past  two years, my life has had more down moments than ever before. Even with the great up moments, sometimes the down can take over your life. In the midst of these times, I have needed to learn to be quite, to look upward, to look inward and to lean on a Higher Power

There is great need to learn to focus on the positive. As we say in yoga, wrap up your problems in a neat package and leave them by the door when you enter. If you want to, you may pick them up on the way out, or you can leave them there. An hour without the weight of your problems bearing down on your shoulder. Coming to yoga each week has helped me to learn to look inward and to be quiet and hear the quiet voice that speaks out to us. Many of our songs that we sing in church talks of “He walks with me and He talks with me” In order to hear these words, one must learn to be quiet. Yoga gives you tools to work on listening not only toy our own body but the one who created your body.

As al of us know, our bodies need attention and we need to listen to them. In yoga, I have learned to be more aware of my body. Many times, it has surprised me with its energy and strength that I  was not aware it had. It is also comforting to be in a situation that you are not competitive but working at your own pace and to your “own” potential.

We feel so grateful for Judy as our leader She has such a beautiful spirit. Her softness in words and thoughts help take the edge off when you come to class uptight. We not oly receive her leadership in class but she is continually sending us little thoughts for the day and encouragements that help us throughout the week

I would like to thank Cokesbury Church for making this yoga class possible. My physician recommended yoga as an answer to prayer, my church opened its doors to our classes. You may never know the good that you have made possible for all who have joined us. Friendships have been forged and support groups have been formed. We are there for one another.

God bless each of you for this opportunity…….

“Yoga helps me to get peace of mind after a stressful and often taxing day. It challenges my body to relax , since I carry all my stress on my shoulders and back. On a more spiritual note, when we get the moment of silence I always choose to meditate on God.

Yoga affords me that opportunity because  without it is difficult to meditate when my thoughts are on the physical.”

Yoga helps me feel stronger physically and emotionally. Making time for me feels good. It has the spiritual aspect which is very important to me and I love the thought or quote on closing. And I love Judy’s gentle spirit
